Summary: Pratt’s Falls is a really nice small park where you can get mileage between 5 – 8 miles without having to do too many loops or doubling back.  Apparently, during the winter months the park closes the main gate so cars were parked along the edge of the road and very beginning part of the driveway just before the gate.  This was new to me, as I’d never seen the gate closed before.

The trails are well maintained and well used but I’ve never seen too many people there that makes you feel like it was crowded.

On this day, the ground was quite wet and slick but not too muddy, except for a couple spots.  The leaves were definitely stuck to the ground as opposed to being loose and freshly fallen.  There’s nothing too spectacular about the trails here but you can get some solid work in, especially on the technical parts.  This time of year, without the leaves on the trees you can see quite far which I rather enjoy.  At the high points of the park you can look across and realize that you’re not actually too far from where you want to go.  At other times of year, the foliage is so thick you can’t hardly see past the first couple rows of trees!

I wouldn’t run at Pratt’s Falls too often, mostly because higher mileage runs aren’t suitable unless you like doing a lot of laps but it is a great park to throw into the mix to change it up a little bit.  If you need a quiet and short run then this is the place for you.
