Summary: Clark Reservation is a great place to get a few miles in and to dip your toes into trail running if you’re a beginner.  It would be really tough to get a lot of miles in only at the park because it’s footprint is pretty small but if you use it as a connector there is a possibility of making it a small part of a long run.  Clark Reservation has a little bit of everything so if you want to work on a specific aspect of your running then it’s a good place to go.  Most of the main trails are crushed gravel but there are a few trails with some very technical terrain.  If you’re looking for elevation, you can get it doing hill repeats on one side of the lake at the bottom of the basin or doing some wicked stair repeats.  There are a little over 100 stairs that take you from the main parking lot area down to the lake.
